Our skin is the most important thing we will ever wear. It plays a vital role in maintaining general health. It acts as an effective barrier protecting us against the environment and is key to the regulation of our body temperature.

When our skin works properly we don’t even know it’s there.

Sometimes however things go wrong. There are more than 2,000 known skin diseases. Many are very common, some are life-threatening, and others blight the lives of sufferers and their families. These include acne, eczema, alopecia, vitiligo, birthmarks and skin cancer.

Dermatologists around the world work daily with skin disease sufferers attempting to ease their suffering. Skin scientists and researchers too are also trying to unlock the skins secrets in order to help find more effective treatments and eventual cures.
