Skin Health Alliance supports British Dermatology Research Conference in London, UK

The Skin Health Alliance was the proud supporter of a British dermatology research conference in London on Thursday 13th October. ‘Skin Deep – 20 Years of Research’ took place at the Royal College of Physicians and was a professional meeting celebrating the British Skin Foundation’s research contribution over the past two decades. The British Skin Foundation raises funds for UK and Ireland based skin disease and skin cancer research.

As a registered charity it is one of many good causes supported by the Skin Health Alliance. The SHA operates as a not for profit organisation annually donating its surplus to skin charities. Other skin brands supporting the conference included SHA partners Pampers, Head and Shoulders and GSK (GlaxoSmithKline).

The conference featured a packed programme including presentations from several of the industry’s leading researchers. Professor Mark Birch-Machin and Chris Griffiths spoke on skin aging whilst others presented the latest UV and skin cancer research.

British Skin Foundation’s Lisa Bickerstaffe said:-

“Skin Deep – 20 Years of Research was a massive undertaking for a charity with the limited resources of the British Skin Foundation. To be able to call upon the assistance and expertise of our friends over at the Skin Health Alliance was hugely appreciated and helped turn our day into a huge success.”

Skin Health Alliance’s James Stalley added:-

“It is important the Skin Health Alliance supports international conferences like this and keeps its finger on the pulse of dermatology innovation. It is only by listening and learning about dermatological research being undertaken today that we and our partners can better prepare for the science and technologies coming to market tomorrow.”

The Skin Health Alliance awards professional accreditation to companies, services and brands seeking specialist dermatological endorsement. Alliance accreditation reassures consumers that a product has been professionally assessed by an independent dermatological committee, follows global safety directives and is not damaging to the environment at any stage of its development, manufacture or disposal.
